SW2idget for SmartWatch2 1.8.1

Most of the widgets are designed for a Japanese locale, as I am a Japanese developer.

Please ensure you read this entire description before installation.

Be aware that a bug exists in the previous version of the SmartWatch2 firmware, which causes the "date" and "day of the week" widgets to crash. Please update to the latest version (2015-01-14) before installing.

• If you are not familiar with SmartWatch2, please do not install this application.
• This application has been tested solely on the SmartWatch2 with Xperia A; designs may not function correctly on other devices.
• The "day of the week" widget is compatible only with Japanese language settings.
• Permissions are required to display/switch device status, but there is no internet access permission.
• For bug reports, please use Gmail. Responses may be blocked if sent from carrier email addresses.

The SW2idget for SmartWatch2 is a collection of widgets that can be added to your watch face. The pre-installed widgets may support multiple languages but often display smaller text, making them difficult to read. Therefore, I have created a space-efficient option with larger text specifically tailored for Japanese users. Additional features include battery level displays for both the clock and Android devices.

Future updates will include additional widget ideas as they come to mind.

How to Use:

1. Select "SmartWatch 2" from the notification bar to view the app list.
2. Select "SW2idget" to open the settings screen.
3. Select your desired widget in "Select Widget." Please note that basic widgets are activated by default.

Basic Widgets:

• Clock: Operates offline if already installed.

• Calendar (Japanese environment only): Operates offline if already installed.
  • [5x2] Kanji clock x2
  • [1x1] Year/Month/Day/Day of the week 1/Day of the week 2/Lunar Month/Time/Date 1/Date 2

  • [3x1] Date and day of the week/One-week calendar

• Other: Displays information from Android devices and does not function offline. The update interval is fixed at 10 minutes, but occasional stalls may occur. To force an update, press the SmartWatch2 power button three times to refresh the watch face.
  • [1x1] Battery: Displays battery level visually and in percentage.
  • [1x1] Device: Displays statuses for LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, and lock from the top left. This may help prevent situations like forgetting to turn off GPS at home.

LED Widget:

This intentionally low-resolution LED-style widget (in white and blue) operates offline once installed. Please note that "AM/PM" will not display when using a 24-hour format.

Mode Switch Widget:

This allows changes to Android device settings and will not operate offline. It facilitates toggling ringtones, vibrations, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and screen auto-rotation collectively. If the settings screen is open or if the widget does not respond to touch, please refresh by pressing the SmartWatch2 power button three times. Note that switching Wi-Fi may take some time, and turning off Bluetooth will disconnect from SmartWatch2.

Media Control Widget:

This widget controls the media player on Android devices and won't function offline. Only media players selected from settings may be remotely controlled (except for volume). Certain player operations may not be supported. For non-responsiveness or settings screen issues, refresh using the power button on SmartWatch2. Testing has confirmed functionality only with Walkman and Winamp applications. The media player must be in the foreground to ensure compatibility similar to Bluetooth headset remote controls.

Unofficial Ingress Widget:

This unofficial widget mimics Ingress-themed designs. Initially intended as a basic template, I became immersed in gameplay and shifted to a more game-like approach featuring Resistance/Enlightened symbols along with some Neutral elements.

• [5x2] Glyph Clock x3: A clock styled after glyph hacking using "Ingress Glyphabet" from tanukifont.com.

• [4x1] Battery & Agent Info x2: Displays battery status visually and in percentages along with displayed access level and code name. Update frequency is fixed at 10 minutes.
• [4x1] Battery & Device x2: Shows battery level visually and in percentages while also indicating GPS/Wi-Fi status affecting location data and packet volume; also updated every 10 minutes.
• [3x1] Battery & Device x2: Similar function as above but without faction symbols.
• [1x1] Faction Symbol x2: Touching activates a specified app; suitable for assigning games like Ingress for convenience.
• [1x1] Cooldown Time: Displays time when cooldown ends (300 seconds later, rounded up). Long-pressing resets it.
• [1x1] Flacker Time: Shows time when flacker effects cease (10 minutes later, rounded down). Also resettable via long-pressing.
• [1x1] Clock: A straightforward clock display.
• [5x1] Date & Day x2: Displays date and time in ISO 8601 or Japanese format; customizable app launching via COMM button touch—an ideal assignment for Hangouts or similar apps.

Specifications and Limitations:

• If you change fonts, text may overflow or fail to display correctly (likely).
• The days of the week will not display properly in environments other than Japanese language settings.

Troubleshooting:

• If widgets do not appear in your SmartWatch2 app: Restart your Android device (as per SmartWatch2 specifications).
